Hilton Palacio del Rio Appoints Monica Castillo as Events Manager

SAN ANTONIO, TX. – January 2, 2020: Zachry Hospitality announced the hiring of Monica Castillo as Event Manager at Hilton Palacio del Rio where she will be responsible for the detailing and servicing of corporate groups, citywide conventions, and meetings. Castillo, with nearly 11 years of hospitality experience, will manage group programs focused at Hilton Palacio del Rio throughout the United States. Monica will be based locally in San Antonio, reporting to Irene Garcia, Assistant Director of Sales for the hotel.

Castillo graduated in 2008 from the University of Texas at San Antonio earning a BBA in Marketing and immediately started her career at Westin Riverwalk. In 2014 she transferred to the W Hoboken in New Jersey where she was responsible for the planning and execution of all social events and weddings for the property. She then returned to the Alamo city in 2017 to hold Catering, Convention Services, and Sales Manager roles at Hotel Contessa. More recently, Castillo served as Assistant Director of Development at UTSA, coordinating fundraising efforts, donor relations, and special events for the College of Business. “I am grateful to be a part of the Hilton Palacio team and look forward to planning successful events, connecting with meeting planners, and showcasing what makes this property special,” said Castillo.
